This tutorial runs like a thread through the documentation of the
WebAssistant Professional and makes a fast getting in possible for you. The tutorial presupposes the following basic knowledge:
For the
WebAssistant Private exists no separate tutorial. Some functions of the private edition can insignificantly differ from this description or are not available.

With download of the
WebAssistant from one of the following sites, you get the ZIP archive MM3-WebAssistant.zip.

Installation test

Should you ever wish not to use the the
WebAssistant for any particular operations, just deactivate the switched-on proxy.

According to the preceded examples you can use
WebAssistant to surf now.
Also see Main Menu and Surf.
Own files (HTML pages) can locally be stored in the cache archive.

You can search for words, domains and URLs in a cache archive. Several search criteria are combined with operation AND.

If a URL isn't available then you get a fault message from the
WebAssistant.

All resources available in active archives can be marked e.g. green when surfing. So you get a fast summary, which resources already archived and thus local are available.

You can use the marking during a retrieval with an internet search machine. Links to pages you have already read can be marked with that. Activate the option/marking/Online-Modus to this.

When surfing in the on-line mode newly available texts are marked e.g. blue.

Resources not relevant to you can be filtered to avoid unnecessary costs for data transmission and memory space.

To identify users, some providers use temporary identifiers in the URL. These identifiers are eliminated.

Starting from a HTML page you can mirror complete HTML sites in an adjustable depth with this option.

Besides the request of a URL with the browser you also can now display and navigate in the directory structure of the cache archive with the command ls.
